CMR Blister Beetle

CMR Beetles feed on a Cape Honeysuckle (Tecoma capensis).

These members of the Meloidae family can rapidly strip a plant of its blooms. They are able extrude a liquid containing the chemical Cantharadin which can cause severe skin burns. Their larva help control grasshoppers as they are parasites of their eggs.
